Spiritual Direction Ministry Formation at the Benedictine Peace Center
“Listening to the Wisdom of the Heart”
Have people been asking you to accompany them on their spiritual journeys, to be a companion who listens and supports their growth in relationship to God?
The Benedictine Peace Center offers a two-year ecumenical spiritual direction ministry training program for men & women, lay & clergy who feel called to spiritual direction ministry. Combining academic and experiential components, this spiritual guidance program includes:
- Distance Learning Modules and
- Quarterly residencies in a monastic setting
The members of the 2016-2018 cohort are finishing the first year of their program with a study of the spiritual writings of saints and mystics. They will begin their practicum this summer. To the left is a group picture taken at the first residency in September, 2016.

This program has been such a deepening, meaningful journey. I feel equipped to engage in a spiritual direction practice and confident of the tools and insights I received through this training. An unexpected blessing has been how enriching this training has been to my own personal spiritual growth – I feel a deeper understanding and intimacy with Jesus and have experienced his presence in my life in a new way. The readings, discussions, interactions with peers and training residencies have all been so very enriching. I am very grateful to have had this experience.

Many ask the question – “What is Spiritual Direction?” It is the ability to walk with others in their faith with trust.
To journey with another in noticing how God is present in their lives in a very sacred ministry. Is God’s Holy Spirit calling you to travel in faith with another?
Come and Explore His call to you.
