Wednesday Evenings, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Central Time
Meeting on Zoom
Six Sessions, February 24 – March 31

online study laudato si

What do the Scriptures say about the environment, beginning with the Creation story in Genesis?  What can we learn from St. Francis of Assisi and contemporary scientists?  The encyclical “Laudato Si: On Care for our Common Home, ” reminds us that the earth is our common home given to us for our use, care and preservation.

Join our Wednesday evening group  to reflect on the papal document, “Laudato Si” using the document itself,  videos by Father Daniel Horan OFM, and a Faith Formation Guide, “Reading, Praying, Living Pope Francis’s  Laudato Si” by David Cloutier.  The sessions will be facilitated by S. Mary Jo Polak OSB.

Pope Francis calls the whole world to take positive action to embrace what he calls “ecological conversion” which demands a fresh look at our relationship to and responsibility for the universe in which we live.   This study includes reading, discussion, prayer and a call to action.  It includes the following topics:

  • What is happening to our common home?
  • The gospel of creation;
  • The human roots of the ecological crisis;
  • Integral ecology;
  • Lines of approach and action and
  • Ecological education and spirituality.

Pre-registration is required by Feb. 22 as so you can receive materials to study in advance of our first meeting.  You will need to order your book or download e-books from   (The books are also available on Amazon.)
