“Lectio Divina– Praying together with Scripture”
On Friday, July 10 and 24 and August 7, 14, 21, and 28, we will meet virtually for Lectio Divina, a time for praying with the Gospel of the following Sunday. Our meeting will include reading the Gospel several times, interspersed with quiet times of reflection, and sharing the fruit of our reflection. Meeting time: 10:00 – 10:45 a.m., Central time. I will use Google Meet; shortly before our meeting time, I will send you an e-mail with the link needed to connect by computer or smartphone (with camera and mic) or by phone (audio only).
Leader – S. Penny Bingham, OSB

Wednesday Evening Group Topic — Open Wide Our Hearts
Join our Wednesday evening group to reflect on the Church’s teaching, based in the Scriptures, on racial equity. We will be using the the document itself along with the study guide “Reading, Praying, Living the U.S. Bishop’s Open Wide Our Hearts,” a faith formation guide by Alison Benders.
The document itself can be downloaded from the website for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. http://www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/human-life-and-dignity/racism/upload/open-wide-our-hearts.pdf. Although written in 2018, this document is very relevant to our current situation. It invites us as followers of Christ to reclaim the God-given dignity of each human person. Our study guide and handouts provide a sociological and historical context.
The evening series for Fall 2020 will be facilitated by S. Mary Jo Polak, meeting 7:00-8:30 for 5 weeks. For more information, e-mail maryjo.polak@yanktonbenedictines.org or call 605-668-6021.
Stay tuned for more information!
