Come to a Place of Quiet for a Personal Writer's Refuge


We are currently accepting fully-vaccinated residential retreatants
at the Benedictine Peace Center on a limited basis.  We ask that our guests wear a mask and social distance in common spaces within the monastery.  In the event of illness or symptoms, you need to inform staff,
be willing to
quarantine at the Center, and make arrangements to return home as soon as feasible.

Creative Retreat Space for Writers

  • Does prayer nurture your creativity?

If your answer is “Yes” to the above — the Benedictine Peace Center welcomes you.  Our accommodations include a private room and bath.   You have the option of joining the Sisters for Morning and Evening Prayer and Mass. Our monastery grounds overlook the Missouri River, several miles downstream from Gavins Point Dam and Lewis and Clark Lake, with options for long walks and sitting by the water.  We are next door to the campus of Mount Marty University with cultural events.

Come by yourself for a day, a week, a month.   Writing or critique groups are also welcome to schedule retreats and use our small conference rooms.
